The Siesta Valley Foundation is reactivating the historic amphitheater as a home for theater, live music, film, and dance. We will offer programming that reflects the diversity of California.

The amphitheater will host an eclectic range of performances, from folk, jazz, and classical to indie rock and global sounds. With its breathtaking natural setting, Siesta Valley will help transform Siesta Valley into one of the Bay Area’s most unique venues for live performance. We are building a model that balances artist needs, community access, and environmental stewardship, ensuring that live music thrives in Siesta Valley.

For decades, Cal Shakes built a reputation for presenting world-class Shakespeare and classical theater in the East Bay. The Siesta Valley Foundation honors that legacy while reimagining what classical theater can mean for contemporary audiences. Through innovative productions, partnerships with theater companies, and educational programs, we aim to make timeless works more accessible, diverse, and resonant.

Film brings people together, and in Siesta Valley it will do so in unforgettable ways. From family movie nights under the open sky to classic films accompanied by live music, we’re creating experiences that are both nostalgic and innovative. Imagine watching a great movie with your kids surrounded by the beauty of the valley, or hearing a live orchestra bring a silent classic to life.

Dance is a universal language — one that transcends words and connects directly to the heart. At Siesta Valley, we will present a wide range of dance programming, from local and regional companies to international touring artists. Ballet, contemporary, traditional, and experimental works will all have a place here. With the amphitheater as a backdrop, dance becomes not just performance but a dialogue between people, art, and the natural world.
