The Siesta Valley Foundation is dedicated to creating spaces where East Bay communities can gather, learn, and thrive.
From Orinda, Lafayette, and Moraga to the broader East Bay communities of Antioch and Hayward, Siesta Valley is designed as a place to gather. Plans include playgrounds, outdoor gathering areas, and family-friendly amenities that ensure the amphitheater grounds are more than a performance space — they’re a civic commons. These spaces will welcome families, neighbors, and visitors alike, offering opportunities for recreation, celebration, and connection.

Building on decades of tradition in Cal Shakes theater workshops and summer camps for aspiring artists, the Siesta Valley Foundation will expand opportunities for education and training. Our programs will include hands-on workshops in theater, music, and dance, as well as conservation and environmental stewardship. Whether it’s a student discovering Shakespeare, a young musician learning stagecraft, or a biologist gaining skills in land stewardship, Siesta Valley will be a place where education is lived and shared.

The Foundation is committed to deep partnerships with schools across the East Bay. We envision field trips, student matinees, and environmental education days for K–12 students, along with ongoing collaborations with colleges and universities to provide internships, research opportunities, and shared programming. By linking the performing arts, ecology, and academia, Siesta Valley will become a living classroom and creative laboratory for learners of all ages.
